Yesterday, I was rearranging things in the bed of the truck and as I'm preparing to climb out of the truck bed, somehow I slipped and landed on my back in the grass. You can almost make out in the picture below that the truck is elevated about a foot in the parking pad which makes it a pretty good fall.
The fall knocked the wind out of me and I slowly got up to try and walk off the growing pain in my back/hip. However, it was getting worse and I had to call for Joyce to help me clean up and get inside the rig. Once inside I sat down and was pretty much stuck in the chair the rest of the day. Joyce went to run an errand and do some shopping. While she was gone, I discovered that I couldn't put weight on my right side without getting excruciating pain in the right side of my back.
After Joyce got home, I managed to painfully make my way to bed and load up on Ibuprophen.
This morning, I felt better and was able to stand on both feet although moving my right leg was painful. I'm praying it's a muscle strain. However, this afternoon after spending the whole day in bed, it was more painful when I got up than this morning but still better than yesterday.
Joyce is insisting I go to the emergency room tomorrow. She's enlisted the help of Les and Sheri to persuade me to go. Les and Sheri have been great and have been coming over to visit yesterday and today while I've been stuck in bed. I hate going to hospitals and I'm praying for a miraculous cure overnight.
Feel better! But, if you don't tomorrow......seek help!!!
ReplyDeleteI think it sounds like you need to check this out. No one likes going to the doc but sometimes it is just the smart thing to do. Hope it isn't anything serious.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon, but if you do indeed need to go to the emergency room, I recommend Seton Southwest. They are generally pretty quiet during the week and a good hospital. Just sign us "one of the locals."
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better today and didn't have to go to the ER. Bad timing to get hurt when you are finally getting ready to move on.
